Trello Pricing Profile

Trello is a visual project management tool that uses boards, lists, and cards to help teams organize tasks and collaborate effectively.

Key Takeaways

Limited Customization and Scalability

Even with a premium subscription, some functionalities come with additional costs, and the customization options are limited.

Enterprise Plan Pricing

Trello's enterprise plan is pricier than similar competitors, which could be a barrier for mid-sized businesses trying to scale. The enterprise pricing might be seen as steep, particularly when comparing it to other products within the Atlassian suite, like Jira, which offers more specialized features such as ticketing.

High Entry-Level Appeal

Trello’s free plan is highly valued for small-scale use, offering a strong entry-level option without cost. However, the transition to paid plans might be seen as less appealing due to the incremental costs associated with unlocking more features.

Its quite good but the features are quite limited and premium plan is expensive so some functionalities comes with additional cost. when board containing number of cards overloads then it becomes difficult to manage and navigate through each card and you can't customise it as such. it has limited customisation.

We can even keep track of plans for personal work using Trello. The free plan almost has everything needed to manage a personal project or a small team. One should consider the paid plans (standard, premium or enterprise) only if they need to work with a large team, need to use automation of tasks or there is a need for external tool integration. Trello works using the concept of Kanban boards where we can create multiple projects or boards in a workspace, and inside the board, we can keep track of tasks under lists such as ‘To do’, ‘Doing’, ‘Done’ etc. In a task, there are options to add a checklist, attachment, assign team members, task description, labels, start date/time and end date/ time. Users can easily move tasks from one list to another by drag and drop feature. The best thing about Trello is that the free version is good enough for me to manage my personal projects, and it’s also available on mobile for easy access.

I prefer a different cost structure from Trello. The enterprise version is pricier than many similar competitors, while the primary option is available at no charge. Furthermore, since only a subscription plan exists, smaller and mid-sized businesses can need help justifying such costs to their management teams. Additionally, unlike Jira from its own parent company Atlassian, it does not include ticketing features either.

I dislike how Trello has a limit on the number of power-ups and integrations I can use for free. I have to upgrade to a paid plan if I want to use more than one power-up per board or access more advanced features and integrations.

There are some restrictions on Trello's free plan, and some users might need to subscribe to a paid subscription in order to access particular features or connectors. Trello's subscription plans might be pricey, which may be a deterrent for certain users on a limited budget.

Trello Pricing Rating

Features & Functionality: 4.3/5

While Trello offers a solid set of features for task and project management, some users feel that advanced functionalities and customization options are limited, particularly in the free plan. Power-ups and integrations add functionality, but require upgrading to paid plans for full access.

Value for Money: 4.5/5

Trello’s free plan offers significant value, especially for individuals and small teams. However, as teams grow and require more advanced features, the cost of paid plans can be a concern for some users, particularly those managing large volumes of tasks or needing multiple integrations.

Integration & Compatibility: 4.6/5

Trello integrates well with many popular third-party apps, which enhances its functionality. However, the limitation on power-ups in the free plan is a drawback for users who need multiple integrations.
